What should I get my dad for Christmas!?
My dad makes it impossible to buy a gift for him. When I ask him what he wants he says socks, yet I refuse to buy him socks for Christmas. (I think he's being sarcastic anyway). Last year I got him an ipod which was a hit, but this year I'm stuck! He's extremely simple and LOVES to work out and anything to do with fitness. He also likes to dress well/have designer things sometimes. Yet at the same time, I'd like to get him something sentimental. Any ideas?!
Well maybe you should get him a gift card to one of his favorite stores that he likes to go to, or just do something special, don't buy him something go do one of his favorite activities with him, of course one that you can afford.
Have you ever heard of being written up for a dress code violation, while working at your own home?
I work at home for an online travel booking service. People call a toll free number and the calls are routed to a phone at my house. I also do live chat,
Last month, I was asked to host a training meeting for three other employees who live near me and a corp executive from Chicago. I wore a nice pair of designer jeans, with a blouse and socks but no shoes.
The first rep who got there asked me if it was OK to take off her shoes and I told her to go ahead. Anyways, three days later I get an email from the CEO who asked if I normally went to business meetings in out socks and why I felt I could disrespect his trainer by doing that.
I don't know whether to laugh or tell him to get lost. I wonder what everyone else thinks.
I disagree with most of the others. if your company wanted to have a professional presecne they would operate out of an office rather than freeload by using YOUR house
One of the selling points of working from home, is you don't need to worry about getting dressed to anyones standard other than your own.
Right now, I am in shorts and a T-shirt, and HORROR of HORRORS, I walk around in my socks too. If someone wants to show up, thats what they will see.
